A new viscometer and a new line of special slitting machines for Gama International Srl

GAMA International announces the development of new viscometers for the label market. The GAMA viscometers are therefore enriched with a new system, the G39, which allows the operator to control, correct and maintain the levels of viscosity, temperature and pH set during the start-up phase. GAMA International has also launched a new line of special machines for converting, slitter- rewinders for aluminium, film and paper thanks to a cooperation agreement with H7Group.

A new viscometer for labels

The new G39 system is suitable for the control of pH, temperature and viscosity and for the automatic correction of solvent and water based inks. It is also able to control the viscosity and the temperature of UV inks. In case of multiple inks uploaded in the printing machine, the G39 software is able to recognize the ink type and to run the respective control and correction process.

GAMA International will launch its G1000 automatic Ink Quality Control system at K 2019

GAMA International will launch its G1000 automatic ink quality control system at K 2019 in Dusseldorf, 16th-23rd October, at Hall 10, stand H26. For the company, the G1000 represents its top of the ink control systems line, fully customizable.

The G1000 has been developed to keep ink quality stable during the printing process and to reduce solvent and ink consumption. It’s not a simple viscometer, it is a complete automatic system, equipped with viscosity and temperature control, magnetic filter, and sophisticated production controls and customized for each rotogravure machine.

This new system displays several advantages: the viscosity and temperature control of ink allows to reduce the use of solvent and ink, quicker start-ups and waste reduction. Furthermore It reduces ink blade lines, thanks to magnetic filter, attracting steel filings. All those features help making the printing process more productive and efficient.

«Thanks to the adoption of a new heat exchanger, we have achieved remarkably higher performances than previous solutions in stabilization of ink temperature», says Sante Conselvan, Sales Director of GAMA International. «Based on tests carried out during production at different temperatures, a minimum saving of 10% of ink and 25% of solvent was observed. It was calculated a return on investment in only 12 months.».

The growth of Grafikontrol confirms its leadership in control technology for the converting market

Milan, March 2, 2017 – Grafikontrol has been a leader in the graphics sector for over forty years, always distinguishing itself by its commitment to the development of industrial control systems. All around the world in the publishing and converting markets, the company has seen a significant increase in turnover year over year, above all in the converting and packaging industry. This commercial growth has been married to its technological expertise, factors that together make it the industry leader.

Growth in 2016

The year 2016 ended positively for Grafikontrol, with an increase in turnover of 14% (10% in direct sales to end customers) compared to 2015. “This has been a year packed with trade fairs all around the world,” says Paolo De Grandis, Grafikontrol’s Sales Director and Partner. “In particular, we took part in two of the most important trade fairs, drupa and K. Though they took place within a few months of each other, we met our goals and then some, thanks to the many visitors to our stand.”

More specifically, Grafikontrol has increased sales on the Italian market for new orders of printing machine systems. “In addition, our strong growth has been accelerated by the retrofit sector, especially installations on already operational printing presses. In these situations, adding Grafikontrol’s control systems has shown customers how to increase the quality of finished products and improve the productivity of their existing machines. Many customers have invested in Grafikontrol’s technologies, including the Goglio Group, for one of its plants, and SITITALIA, where Grafikontrol’s control systems are used for the gravure facilities in Pesaro, and the flexographic plants in Padua.”

Presence of Grafikontrol systems grows in America

Milan, December 1, 2016 – The recent participation in Labelexpo Americas was an opportunity for Grafikontrol to verify its position in the US market. Having already operated in the market for 35 years through OEMs and agents, in 2015 Grafikontrol opened an office in the US to handle sales and technical support. Sales have focused primarily in the converting sector and are increasing: today, the US is the second biggest market for Grafikontrol, accounting for around 20% of its turnover.

Grafikontrol Sales Director and Partner Paolo De Grandis identifies the success factors which have led to a 10% year-on-year increase over the past two years: “Following the launch of the new TQC-360° product line, we concentrated on ensuring the continuous training of our technical support personnel, particularly by using a remote connection system and setting up a warehouse with a permanent stock of spare parts to ensure prompt service in case of emergency. This was a crucial factor that was highly appreciated by customers. The direct commercial presence was also an important factor as it conveyed the company’s dynamism and guaranteed its involvement in many industry events, including FTA and GAA (Gravure Association of the Americas), of which Grafikontrol is a member.”

Grafikontrol’s drupa stand sees boom of visitors from the United States and the Middle East

New PROCHECK system for print defect traceability and new MATRIX and LYNEX inspection systems achieve success in packaging markets

Milan, June 29th, 2016 – Grafikontrol’s participation at drupa proved to be one of the most successful, with hundreds of visitors from all over the world. Grafikontrol showed its leadership by presenting a complete range of quality control systems centered on the TQC-360° platform.  These products offer continuous and complete inspection throughout the printing and post-printing process. These solutions have been adopted by major industry manufacturers including UTECO, Lombardi Converting and Amut Dolci Bielloni who installed the Grafikontrol systems on their printing presses at drupa.

Visitors were particularly impressed with the PROCHECK system, the newest TQC-360° product presented at the show. “This innovative defect tracking system, which is currently patent pending, tracks the exact location of every defect detected during printing and lamination. This information is then sent to the slitting department and allows the operator to remove defects by automatically controlling the machine stoppage. Until now, it was the missing link in the total quality process, comments Paolo De Grandis, sales director and business partner at Grafikontrol. Regarding the new philosophy adopted in the development of the TQC-360° products, De Grandis elaborated: “it’s a unique solution on the market and an indispensable aid which any efficient pressroom must have.”
